Oxford’s lacrosse team pummled Saginaw Heritage on their home turf this past Saturday, winning 5-0. This was their first win of the season.
Sophomore goalie Derrick Stinson stopped all shots for his first career shutout. Senior Adam McLoskey had three goals to lead the offense.
‘Our team offense looked much better in this game,? said coach Brian Edwards. ‘They moved the ball well which created a lot of scoring opportunities.?
Edwards said the score could have been in double digits if Oxford’s goalie didn’t play as well as he did.
‘We really had to earn those goals. The guys took care of the little things, the elements of the game that they have complete control over, and the big things took care of themselves. I was really proud of the effort of the entire team,? he said.
Last Monday, Oxford lost 1-2 to West Bloomfield.
Their offense wasn’t ‘clicking,? according to Edwards, and they didn’t see as many shots on goal.
The boys travel to Romeo on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. game.
