Kids brighten up parking lot

About 35 young artists stopped by for a chance to leave some lasting artwork in downtown Clarkston, Nov. 7.
‘The kids like to work with bright colors ‘they’re really enjoying it,? said artist Michelle Tynan, who invited local youth to help her finish her mural project on the 5 S. Main Street building, home of The Clarkston News.
They painted their names, hearts, and other messages on parking-lot stones, enjoying pizza donated by Rudy’s Market when they finished.
Paint and primer was donated by Ace Hardware, Burke Lumber, and Jim Sherman Sr., owner of the building.
The youth project marks the end of major work on the mural, though Tynan will continue finishing figures through fall and winter, as weather allows.
