Two Oxford school buses were involved in a fender-bender early Tuesday morning on the way to school, leaving nine students with minor injuries.
An empty bus was waiting to turn west at the intersection of Ray and N. Oxford roads when a bus carrying 34 Oxford Middle School students behind it was unable to brake in time on the icy roads.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, the second bus crashed into the rear of the turning bus.
The driver of the empty bus complained of neck pain, but refused medical treatment.
Char Podzikowski, Supervisor of Transportation for Oxford, said it’s unknown at this time what the actual cost will be to repair the damages. She said the buses sustained damages such as bent bumpers, a cracked hood and broken emergency door window.
‘They are still driveable, but we won’t be using them,? she said. ‘We have spares.?
