Congratulations to Oxford High School seniors Adam Heskitt and Andrew Stein who each received a one-year $2,500 scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Program today.
The students were selected from a pool of about 15,000 finalists. There were 2,500 high school seniors across the country who received these scholarships.
Winners of the scholarships were judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Both Stein and Heskitt said they were ‘proud? of their accomplishment and know the money will be put to good use.
Stein, a resident of Leonard, will be attending Harvard University to study biomedical engineering, while Heskitt, of Oxford, will studying electrical engineering at Michigan Technological University.
Both students are 4.0 students and members of the OHS Robotics Team, Varsity track team, Varsity cross country team, and Quiz Bowl. Heskitt is also involved with the S.A.D.D. Club and Stein is a member of the National Honor Society.
