Special to The Review
The Lake Orion Sons of the American Legion Squadron 233 is looking for community assistance in two ways as it gears up for its largest charity activity of the year, the “12 Families of Christmas” program.
The program annually assists at least a dozen needy Lake Orion area families with holiday meals and gifts for their children.
First, due to the limitations of Covid-19, the Sons are unable to conduct their annual live auction fundraiser to support the program.
Instead, the squadron is seeking direct cash donations for the program. If you can help, please mail or deliver donation checks payable to “SAL 233” to American Legion Post 233, 164 S. Broadway, Lake Orion, MI 48362 (“12 Families” on note line).
Alternatively, donations may be sent electronically to the SAL PayPal account: LakeOrionSAL233@gmail.com.
Second, the SAL 233 is seeking community assistance in identifying needy Lake Orion families for consideration for assistance this holiday season.
If your family needs the program’s support, or you would like to recommend a family in need, please contact the American Legion directly at 248-693-2782 and leave a message for SAL Squadron 233 Commander Bob Gritzinger.
