Grid iron gang to face toughest team, yet

This Saturday, the Dragons will face their toughest competition yet, says Head Coach Chris Bell.
And though he says the game’s mostly about bragging rights, it will be good preparation for Clarkston the following week in the league championship, as well as playoffs.
For the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) White crossover game, Lake Orion will face Farmington Harrison, Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. in an away game.
‘It’ll be the best team we’ve seen yet. They’ve got a very good quarterback, great talent in skill positions, very good wide receivers, good running backs. They’re not really big up front, but they come off the ball pretty well. Their defense has good speed and they’re solid in special teams. They’re good,? said Bell.
He added, Harrison’s ranked in first place in Division two in the state, ‘and deservedly so.?
The Dragons played Farmington Harrison a total of five times between 2002 and 2006, but haven’t faced them since. At their last meeting, Lake Orion came out on top, 42-21.
Are the Dragons ready to face them this time around? Bell says his team has done everything it can in preparation.
‘We need a game like this. We’ll match up with them very well. It’s just a matter of going out and making plays,? he said. ‘A win here will go a long ways in securing some home playoff games.?
In last Friday’s game against Troy Athens, Dragons came out on top, 45-7.
Bell says he was a little concerned about how his team would respond after a homecoming week rife with emotion and excitement.
‘Homecoming always takes a lot of you, but I’ve very proud of the kids. They played very workman-like, they played hard. We got great contributions from everybody,? he said adding KJ Ester had a very good game, as did Demitri Hudson. Danny Ney suffered a slight injury so Bell sat him during the game.
