Goodrich netters notch 1-3 mark at Northwood Invite

The Goodrich volleyball squad, playing without one of their top members, had a rough time of it at the Northwood Invitational Saturday, Jan. 3.
The Martians finished third in their four-team pool at the meet in Midland, going 1-3 that day. Their overall mark is now 3-5-1.
Goodrich’s lone win came against Brown City, where they won 21-14, 21-12. The Martians lost to Battle Creek Lakeview 21-17, 21-16 and Detroit Mercy 21-16, 21-17, and were also defeated by Grand Rapids Lakers in the first round of the playoffs, 21-17, 21-16.
Marissa Misura led the Martians, going 15-for-19 serving with five aces, and added six blocks and six kills. Betsy Seymour went 12-for-12 serving with three aces and 23 digs, and was 17-for-22 passing with eight kills, and Alyssa Bertrand was 19-for-25 serving with nine aces, 10 dogs and 17 assists.
Goodrich returns to action Jan. 12 when they host Lake Fenton in a 6 p.m. contest.
