GHS skeet team tops in state

On June 18, the Goodrich High School Skeet team competed in the Scholastic Clay Target Program Michigan State Championships at the Detroit Gun Club in Walled Lake. GHS won the state champion high school trophy and second place high school sporting clays trophy.
JV skeet shooters Justin Broecker, Matt Kovarik and Cameron Exel won the state championship in their divisions. Matt Kovarik, Cameron Exel and Anthony Robinson won the state championship title in sporting clays. GHS also took the bronze medal in JV skeet with Bailey Stayton, Jacob Seavey, and Anthony Robinson.
‘We are proud to have the support of the Goodrich School system, High School Principal David St. Aubin, and the athletic department,? said Darrell King, GHS Skeet team head coach.
The senior varsity squad, consisting of Shane Holton, Grant Murphy and Audrey King, took the bronze in their division with Murphy shooting 99 out of 100 targets.
The GHS skeet team completed their sixth season.
