Dozens of volunteers came out, April 24, for Davisburg Beautification Day.
“We had a fantastic turn-out ? more than 70 volunteers worked at four sites,” said Laura Moreau, Springfield Township clerk.
They cleared brush and picked up trash on township property along Davisburg Road from Dilley to Andersonville Road, including Shultz Park, Davisburg Cemetery, Mill Pond Park, Rotary Park, Fire Station #1, and downtown Davisburg.
“We’re excited so many people showed up to help,” said township Supervisor Mike Trout. “Community spirit is alive and well here in Davisburg. We accomplished a lot.”
Volunteers were from Davisburg Rotary, Davisburg Knights of Columbus, Divine Mercy Parish chapter, Clarkston High School National Honor Society, Friends of the Parks, Springfield Garden Club, Boy Scout Troop 192, downtown businesses, Springfield Township officials and staff, and residents.
Oakland County Parks and Rec also hosted a volunteer day at Rotary Park, planting new perennials.
