The Clarkston volleyball team’s season ended with a jolt on March 3 as the Wolves lost a 3-2 match to host Stoney Creek in the opening round of districts.
Though there are only three departing seniors, Clarkston Coach Kelly Avenall does not have a clear picture of next year’s team.
‘I met with the kids and gave them a list of things to work on during the summer. I’m looking at freshman on up next year,? Avenall said.
While Clarkston struggled in the OAA I this year with a 3-7 league record, the Wolves freshman and junior varsity clubs achieved measures of success.
The freshman team won their own tournament and the JV won the Fenton tournament.
The picture of next year’s varsity squad should be in better focus after Avenall’s skills camp. The camp begins the first week after school releases for the summer vacation.
