Fourth against top state teams

Gusty winds and the top tennis teams from all over Michigan awaited the girls varsity tennis team at Ann Arbor Pioneer Invitational.
The girls fought through it and didn’t let the weather effect them as they took fourth place.
Grosse Point North took first place followed by Ann Arbor and Novi in second and third place.
Senior Blair McCarty took home a second place medal for singles.
Doubles team Emi Allen and Stephanie Kincaid also won a medal for second place medals.
‘This tournament provided some great victories and exposed some challenges that will need to be improved if a fourth consecutive invitation to the states competition is extended to us this year,? said coach Craig Judd.
Earlier in the week, the girls kept busy playing three schools. They won against Birmingham Groves and North Farmington, both by scoring 6-2.
They lost against West Bloomfield, 6-2.
The girls will host Rochester Adams on Thursday and Rochester next Tuesday. Both games begin at 4 p.m.
