The girls track team came back with four individuals named all-state after the state final this past weekend.
They took 11th place as a team during their state meet in Rockford.
‘It shows we’re a very versatile team. They had a good performance overall,? said girls varsity track coach John Yorke. ‘I was very proud of the girls and thought they did a good job.?
Stephanie Thorstad placed fourth in the high jump at 5-feet and 5-inches.
Autumn Touchstone took fifth in the 100 hurdles (15.05) and sixth place in the 300 hurdles (44.67).
Kristen Smith kept the pace in her 3200 meter run and finished 10:56.66 to take fourth place.
Dana Johns placed in eighth in pole vault with 10-feet and 6-inches.
‘We got as far as winning the regional championship. I am proud of the girls,? said Yorke.
Ten girls qualified to go to the state final during the regional competition on May 17.
The girls team will lose all-state Thorstad and Touchstone for next season, but Yorke expects next year to be just as good with many girls returning and many new girls coming from this year’s eighth grade team.
‘It looks good for next year,? said Yorke.
‘The distance runners will be better. Girls will step up. Some will have to step up, and in the past they always have.?

Coach Yorke will be running a track camp through community education this summer.
The camp is for boys and girls entering grades 3? 7. It will be July 14-17 at Clarkston High School from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
The cost is $95.
