Washington resident Anthony Jacob Fix, 18, was taken into custody and charged over the weekend with a home invasion and felonious assault that occurred June 2 at 1575 Dorn Dr. in Addison Township.
Two female house cleaners were working in the residence when shortly after 1 p.m., Fix allegedly approached one of them from behind while holding a kitchen knife and wearing a ski mask.
He yelled at the woman to get on the floor, then allegedly tied her hands behind her back. The second woman heard yelling upstairs and came to see what was going on. Fix allegedly tied her up too, then walked into a bedroom before leaving via the basement.
The women freed themselves, ran to their car and drove to their pastor’s home down the road where they called 9-1-1. They were reportedly uninjured.
Oakland County Sheriff Sgt. Pete Burkett said it was determined Fix allegedly entered the home through a sliding glass door in the basement.
The homeowner told police that Fix was recently at his son’s graduation party and had spent the night the day before the incident. He gave a description of Fix’s vehicle and where he lived.
Fix was at his Washington Township home when he was taken into custody by Sgt. Burkett and transported to the Oakland County Jail in Pontiac.
Deputies found a pair of camoflauge pants, boots and a black sweat shirt in the back of Fix’s car, all of which fit the description given by the women he allegedly assaulted.
Fix originally denied allegations he was involved in the home invasion, but then admitted to the crime after brief questioning, according to the sheriff’s report.
In the report, Fix said he came back to the residence to get a ‘fix? of Ecstasy and he knew his friend had some he could steal. Fix admitted he parked his car on Frick Rd., walked through the woods to get to the house and entered through the basement sliding glass door, according to the sheriff’s report.
The suspect told investigators he never took the knife out of his pocket, but admitted he tied the victims up and left, the report stated.
Fix is currently being lodged in county jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $25,000 cash bond. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
