Elaine Marie Hines, 76, of Lake Orion, entered into God’s kingdom on Aug. 10, 2023. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family with the care of Trinity Hospice.
She was born October 05,1946, to Frank and Irma Slezak.
Elaine, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Michelle; son- in law, Brian; grandchildren, Avery, Riley and Emmeline; and brother, Lynn Slezak.
Upon graduating from Dutchess Community College, she went to Albany Medical Center and became a registered nurse. One of her greatest achievements. She began a lifelong career in Poughkeepsie, New York which led to Knoxville, Tennessee, Fort Myers, Florida and finally Lake Orion, Michigan. Here she stayed for 40 years and nursed the elderly through the final stages of their life. She ended her career with the Jesuits at Colombiere Center in Clarkston, Michigan as the Director of Nurses.
When meeting Elaine, most felt calm and at ease. She was a kind soul with a bright smile and loving touch. As a natural caregiver and servant of God, her nature and gentleness touched the hearts and souls of many as she and her husband, Ron devoted their lives to the works within their community through Christ the Redeemer Church, The Knights of Columbus and The Lions Club.
Her love for gardening was a great passion because being outside with her plants and flowers was the one place where she could forget everything and be at peace. Elaine silently battled an autoimmune disease for the last 20 years. She found her strength through her gardens and the beauty of what God could create.
She was a pillar of strength to her family and friends, never wanting to be a burden. Elaine was truly a wonderful mom, wife, and grandmother. Her impact will never be forgotten by her family and loved ones. She will be remembered as an angel of God with her selfless acts of charity, loving heart, compassionate voice and undying care for all those that knew her.
