Editor’s note

We’ve received multiple Letters to the Editor (appearing on this page) and a handful of phone calls regarding the inclusion of Oxford Leader Editor C.J. Carnacchio’s column in last week’s issue.
Carnacchio has been covering the NOTA meetings for The Review, with regards to recent allegations against the local transportation service and Director Pat Fitchena (his account of the latest NOTA meeting appears in this web edition).
His column last week was a commentary on current Road Commissioner and former County Commissioner Eric Wilson’s involvement with that board — hence it appeared on our ‘Editorial Pages.?
The Review and its staff encourages an open dialogue within these pages, which is why you see letters responding to this column, and we encourage those that called us in the past week to do the same.
One person mentioned in Carnacchio’s column, Orion Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk, noted that Orion has contributed more than their ‘fair share? when it comes to joint organizations such as NOTA.
In his column, Carnacchio addressed this by writing, ‘Yes, Orion contributes more money to NOTA, but township representation on the board is supposed to be equal, not based on funding.?
He said Orion would be better suited asking the other communities to contribute more, as opposed to thinking their uneven funding should result in uneven representation on a board that is too big to begin with.

In response to the Phil in the Blank column ‘Rumor mill now officially closed,? Feb. 27 edition, Larry Rosso said he did not forward emails about the Planning Commission to Neil Wallace.
‘How he got a copy, I have no idea,? Rosso said.
He said he agrees commissioners made the wrong decision regarding its planning consultant, but his e-mail was meant to be an internal communication.
