The Lake Orion boys’ varsity basketball team earned their seventh consecutive win and remain undefeated in OAA White play with a 46-37 league victory over the Troy Colts at home on Feb. 1.

The game, which was tied 15-15 at the half, was a defensive battle from beginning to end. Lake Orion outscored Troy 31-22 in the second half to seal the win.

Leading the way for the Dragons was junior DJ Morrow, who had a career-high 19 points. Senior Alden Ritt added 13 points; junior Blake Liddell added seven points and ripped down 12 rebounds. Seniors Malachi Grandberry (five points) and CJ Witt (two points) rounded out the scoring.

The boys traveled to Bloomfield Hills for another OAA White battle on Feb. 4, and won 70-56, their eighth straight victory

Leading the way for the Dragons was the senior duo of Ritt with 27 points and Grandberry with 25 points. Morrow added nine points, and Witt chipped in five. Liddell, who had four points and eight rebounds, commanded the post and contributed a high level of defensive energy.

The Dragons improve to 10-4 overall, 3-0 in the OAA White, and they hit the road to play Groves on Thursday.
