The Lake Orion High School girls varsity basketball ended their losing streak with a win over Groves High School 55-45. But the celebration was short lived as the team earned another OAA Red loss on the road to West Bloomfield High School 67-22.
At home against Groves, leading scorers for the Dragons were junior captain Izzy Wotlinski with 16 points and ten rebounds, senior captain Ryann Pawlaczyk with 13 points and ten rebounds. Also scoring for Lake Orion were senior Ellie Britt with 11 points, junior Nevaeh Wood with eight points and five rebounds, junior Charlotte Peplowski with five points and senior Lexie Strohschein with two points.
The ladies hit the road on Feb. 8 for a rematch against West Bloomfield High School. The West Bloomfield team is currently undefeated in the OAA Red and has only had one regular season loss against an undefeated Ohio based team.
Scoring for the Dragons were Wotlinski with eight points and four rebounds and Strohschein with four points. Also adding points for Lake Orion were Pawlaczyk, Wood and Britt with three points each.
The Dragons are now 0-6 in the OAA Red division and 8-7 overall.
The ladies face off against the Clarkston Wolves again on Tuesday after Review press time. — M.K.
