The Lake Orion varsity boys basketball team are hoping for a good start in district competition on Feb. 28, as they lost to Bloomfield Hills Lahser and Farmington Hills Harrison in regular season action last week.
On Feb. 15, the Dragons were defeated, 61-52, after Lake Orion had won against Lahser in the previous game this season, in three overtimes.
Neil Medchill led the Lake Orion team with 10 points, while Kojo Asiedu followed with nine.
Drew Maynard had eight points for the Dragons, while Jon Krause and Chris O’Dea each put up six. Brad Neary and Justin Smith each had five for the team, including a three-pointer from Neary.
Against Harrison on Feb. 18, the Dragons lost, 55-51, taking their record to 9-9, 5-6 in OAA III.
O’Dea was the team’s top scorer with 17 points, while Krause finished with 10.
Marc Thompson scored eight for Lake Orion, while Maynard had six points.
The Dragons traveled to Royal Oak Kimball on Feb. 22, and host Oak Park on Friday, with the varsity game time at 7 p.m.
District competition begins on Feb. 28, and regionals are set for March 8.
