This isn’t a pit bull problem? this is a dog-off-the-leash problem. The breed of dog is immaterial.
The article discusses dog owners who are breaking the law by letting their dogs run wild. Even after having received three dog-at-large citations in the last month, these people still ‘don’t see any problems with this.? Obviously, the ‘illegal? part hasn’t sunk in yet.
The proper response is to focus on lawbreakers, by enforcing or strengthening the leash law, no matter what dog breed is involved. A misguided response would be to ban certain dog breeds, which punishes the law-abiding innocent, and it looks the other way when owners of politically-correct dog breeds break the leash law.
