Oxford Firefighters quickly responded when they received a call that a riding lawnmower had flipped over and landed on a Crossroads for Youth seasonal employee Tuesday morning.
Alan Craddock, a 66-year-old Oxford resident, was mowing the lawn when he got too close to the road and slid off of a dropoff at 9:45 a.m.
‘The lawnmower flipped over and was still on top of him when we arrived,? explained Oxford Fire Chief Pete Scholz.
They were able to get the lawnmower off of him and transport Craddock to the hospital. ‘I expect him to fully recover,? Scholz said.
Crossroads for Youth President Dr. Janey McPeek received word Craddock had no serious injuries and would be all right. The hospital planned to keep him overnight for observation.
McPeek said she doesn’t know a lot about what happened, but assured the facility does take safe precautions.
‘Our first concern is his well-being,? she explained, adding EMS, Oxford Fire and Oakland County Sheriff Office deputies responded quickly to help.
‘He is a wonderful employee,? said McPeek. ‘We are so glad he is going to be all right.?
