In last week’s ?2006 in Review,? the summary of a June 7 story incorrectly referred to two separate fires as the same one.
A June 1 fire on Heights Road claimed a home, though the homeowner and her dog were able to escape.
A May 31 fire on Pine Lake Road was extinguished by the homeowner.
No one was injured in either fire.

There were multiple errors in last week’s story ‘Marina issue resolved?? referring to the ongoing situation on Pine Island.
The story claimed that Mat Dunaskiss would be required to pay all attorney and court costs for the case to be dismissed. In actuality, Dunaskiss must pay court costs only if future action is taken by the township on the matter.
The story also said that Dunaskiss? countersuit had been dropped. Litigation on both sides is still pending.

The Review regrets the errors.

CORRECTIONS: In last week’s article about a local fund-raiser for an injured U.S. Marine, the story should’ve read that although the Government will pay for John’s medical needs, there are other financial responsibilities John and his wife must meet. Proceeds from the fund-raiser will help pay for those needs.

In last week’s article about the Oxford Booster Club paying for a new concession stand, the name Nick Groves should’ve been Nathan Grove.

In the Aug. 1 issue, a front-page headline incorrectly stated the Oxford Village Council hired Maureen Helmuth as the new treasurer. Actually, Helmuth was recommended and appointed to the position by Manager Joe Young. Council did not vote to hire her.

Last week’s Lake Orion Review contained error’s in two articles.
The first article, titled ‘Green’s Park lifeguards on chopping block? incorrectly claimed the lifeguards cost the township $20,000 annually. The water guardians actually cost the village that much.
The second article, titled ‘Orion Groundin’s gives out Prom dresses? misspelled Grondin’s in the headline and throughout the article.

CLARIFICATIONS ? In last week’s story regarding Addison Township’s vote to change health insurance providers, the last three lines of the story were cut off. The article’s final sentence should have read, ‘Alberty said that he expects to be bringing the issue, along with the possibility of disability, life insurance coverage and reduced monthly contributions, before the board again at the July meeting.?
In last week’s coverage of the Oxford High School Senior Honors and Awards Program, the name of Jennifer Sommers should have been included under the Yearbook Awards category.

In last week’s front-page story about the Open Carry Picnic at Seymour Lake Park Aug. 2, the web address for Michigan Open Carry should have been listed as www.miopencarry.org.
Last week’s story about Oxford resident Greg Williams? alleged embezzlement from a youth baseball team should have stated Cooperstown is located in New York.
A story from two weeks ago about Brandon Bunker’s Eagle Scout project should have listed one of his donors as Acton Trucking.

In the story”Mural meltdown at city meeting,” Dec. 10 edition, Don Frayer’s name was spelled incorrectly. Also, Lorry Mahler was misidentified as Marilyn Moir.
In “Salary freeze for township elected officials,” the Indedpendence Township Board voted 7-0, Feb. 5, to approve a three-percent pay increase, not 6-1.

The article “Clean canines” incorrectly listed the former address of Advanced PetCare of Oakland. The veterinary office is located at 6378 Sashabaw Road.
The story “Coffee shop opens on Dixie” should not have listed Kim Huttenlocker as an owner of Biggby Coffee. Her sister Kari Mascar is the sole owner.

In the article “Chamber’s set to fill Main Street with tasty treats,” Debbie Hansen’s name was misspelled.
Tim Birtsas’ name was also misspelled in “Deer Lake plan rejected as too dense.”
The story “We’re moving out of town” should have reported the current township hall was constructed in 1910. Its original domed belvedere was later taken down, but the building remained. The school built in 1934 is on Waldon Road, currently used for community education and Renaissance High School.

In the Aug. 29 edition of The Lake Orion Review an mistaken censoring occured with the dragon boat team on Page 6. The team called You’re Dragon is actually called Urassis Dragon. Also in the Aug. 29 issue, on Page 5, the Cortney Kimble mentioned in the story is actually Kimmel.
In the Sept. 5 edition the story on Page 4 is mistakenly credited to Gabriel Ouzounian, when the story was actually written by High School Coorispondant Olivia Shumaker.

Also, the ‘Burn revision fizzles out? article on July 25 stated the revision included a ‘restriction of burning 50 feet from a building or structure, as opposed to the current ordinance’s 25 feet.? The current ordinance restricts burning to 50 feet from a building or structure, and the revision would have retained the 50 feet limit.

In the April 25 edition of The Lake Orion Review an error was made in the article ‘Lake Orion Village welcomes new boutique.? The location of the other store is not St. Clair Shores, but St. Clair.

In the April 18 issue of The Lake Orion Review, an error occured in the article ‘Signing for the future? on Page 3. The picture identifying the volleyball team is actually the girls basketball team.
