The K-9 Stray Rescue League in Oxford will have a little more extra cash to care for the dogs in their Metamora Rd. facility, thanks to Clear Lake Elementary’s Peacemakers Club.
The club held their annual Super Dog Bowl on Feb. 3 at Collier Lanes, and collected a total of $1,200 for the rescue.
Funds were raised from bowling fees, a 50/50 raffle, selling baked goods and a silent auction.
On Saturday, kids from the Peacemakers Club presented K-9 Stray Rescue with a check for $900 (the other $300 was collected from a silent auction the day of the event).
About 144 bowlers participated in the Super Dog Bowl.
In previous years, the clubs donations helped to fund the building of a new kennel.
