The Wildcat Varsity Cheer team put forth another solid effort, finishing fifth in their Flint Metro League meet at Holly on Wed, Jan 14.
The Wildcats finished the meet with 621.7174 points and were just a tenth of a point behind fourth place and 30 points behind third place.
Oxford Cheer Coach Sheri Russell was pleased with the results. ‘It was a close fight for the third through sixth positions,? she said. ‘I am happy with the score, but we want to still improve and get better.?
By being so close to third place, Coach Russell has changed the goal for the team. ‘After the results, the goal is to finish third or fourth in the meets,? she said.
Brandon won with meet with an overall score of 716.4160 and Lapeer West finished second. The girls next cheer meet is Sat, Jan 24 at Waterford Mott.
