It was a tale of two matchups as the Brandon wrestling team hosted a quad meet Friday, Dec. 5.
The Blackhawks cruised to a 72-12 win against Mt. Morris, but were in turn routed by Montrose 70-12. The split left the Blackhawks with a 2-2 record on the young season.
The Panthers did not field a full team, and as a result, nine Brandon wrestlers won by forfeit: Justin Eimers (171), Justin Tripp (189), Joe Tolan (215), Austin Hickman (275), Travis Murphy (103), Alex Rosalez (112), Andrew Hyde (140), Robert Speedy (145), and Marcus Pesavento (152).
Three other Brandon wrestlers earned pinfall victories against the Panthers. Jimmy Millar (125) pinned Eric Martinez in 1:42; John Soave (130) pinned Mike Ring in 3:00; and David Geeham (135) pinned Dwight Olejnik in 24 seconds.
