Even though the score ended in a 2-2 tie Monday night against Brandon, Oxford Varsity girls? soccer coach Mark Sullivant said it was the ‘best soccer the team had played all season.?
‘The whole team was very determined to not walk away with another loss,? said Sullivant, mentioning last week’s 1-2 loss to Fenton. ‘We have been down that road a couple of times this year and had to increase our team intensity.?
The two goals of the night came from junior Brittany Moncrieff, with the second one being assisted by junior Taylor Dewey.
Sullivant said a tremendous effort was made by juniors Olivia Stevens and Brianna Pastewski as well as freshmen Amanda Roth and Sara Nieboer.
‘Our team keeps getting better and better and we are learning how to compete,? he said.
The girls are now 2-2-1 in the FML and 4-6-1 overall. They take on Lapeer East at home tonight at 6:45 p.m.
