Nine Lake Orion players named to all-league team

Lake Orion High School varsity football Coach John Blackstock has been named the Oakland Activities Association’s Red League Division Coach of the Year and nine of his players have been named to the all-league team.

Lake Orion’s 2019 OAA All-League honorees are:

• Senior Kobe Manzo, running back

• Senior Blaze Lauer, quarterback

• Senior Drew Vanheck, wide receiver

• Senior Mitch Howell, slot

• Senior Isaac Kinne, outside linebacker

• Junior Kade Manzo, safety

• Senior Casey Coltrin, linebacker

• Senior Joe Cady, defensive line

• Senior Connor Ross, punter

Blackstock’s Dragons finished the regular season at 8-1, the team’s only loss coming to West Bloomfield in four overtimes.

West Bloomfield had 10 players make the all-conference team.

The Dragons won their first playoff game against Stoney Creek on Nov. 1 and will now face Utica Eisenhower at 7 p.m. on Friday at Dragon Stadium. – J.N.
