Another Orion school joins ‘blue? club

While their colors may be green and white, Oakview Middle School is seeing a whole lot of blue. Blue Ribbon that is.
Based upon the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Select Committee and the results of a site visit, Oakview Middle School was chosen as a Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary School for the 2007-2008 school year.
The middle school joins seven other schools in the Lake Orion School District that have previously been recognized as Blue Ribbon schools.
Blue Ribbon Schools are models of both excellence and equity. To be recognized, a school must demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence for all students. The program recognizes schools that have demonstrated success in achieving these values as well as schools that have overcome obstacles and can provide evidence of five years of sustained student achievement.
Oakview’s formal recognition will take place at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 3 at 1:15 p.m.
