A win for Pap

A Clarkston High School sports patriarch is gone but his spirit lives on in his son, Coach Dan Fife and the Wolves basketball team.
Prior to the game the Wolves heard the news one of their loyal fans, Victor “Pap” Fife, Coach Dan Fife’s dad, passed away earlier in the day, Feb. 22.
Cagers, who know Pap well from his regular presence in the stands, battled through their emotions Friday night to pull out a win over a familiar foe.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball team took to the floor and scored 20 points on Pontiac in the first quarter and scored another 23 points before the half ended. The Phoenix only shot 18 points past the Wolves.
The boys finished the game with a 77-37 win, putting them at 9-1 in the OAA Red and 15-3 overall.
Junior Nick Owens led the team with 28 points, scoring six field goals for the night. Senior Jordan Dasuqi added 25 points to the score with four 3-pointers.
Clarkston heads to Southfield-Lathrup on Thursday for their last game of the regular season.
They open the post-season against Lake Orion in the MHSAA Districts, 7 p.m. at Lake Orion, 495 E. Scripps.
