A minute to win it

Soccer fans were on the edge of their seats as they tried to keep warm during the Lady Wolves last home game of the regular season last Thursday.
Thoughts of the strong, cold wind were diminished as the girls varsity team ended the scoreless tie with less than five minutes to go in the game against Waterford Mott.
After numerous attempts on the net it was Parker Menard’s shot to make it into the corner of the net and put the score 1-0.
Before the Corsairs could come back Madison Herbert lined up the ball for a cornerkick. She kicked it onto the field where Hannah Siegfried picked it up and shot it over players and into the net with 1:19 left on the clock.
The girls made eight shots on the net and senior Katie Miller had two saves.
The Lady Wolves played Waterford Kettering on Tuesday in the first round of MHSAA District playoffs.
The winner heads to the semifinals on Thursday. The final round is Saturday at Carman-Ainsworth, 11 a.m.
