Cagers struggle at home and on road

Wins have come few and far between for the Lake Orion High School varsity boys basketball team this season, and this past week was no different as they dropped two games to Auburn Hills Avondale and Birmingham Groves.
The Dragons hosted Avondale on Feb. 17, losing 70-54. Lake Orion was led by Brad Neary, who had 14 points, and Neil Medchill with 12. Other Dragon top scorers were: Chris O’Dea, with nine points; Ross Tonyan, with eight points; and Colin Goff, with six points.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Kerry Cole and Brandon Scruggs, each scoring 14 points.
On Feb. 20, Lake Orion traveled to Groves and lost 63-44. The team was led this time by O’Dea, who had 11 points.
Other Dragon scorers were: Tonyan, with 10 points; and Neary and Mike Ripari, each with six points.
Aaron Webster led Groves with 16, while Mark Matthews and Rob Roberts each had 10 points.
Lake Orion hosts West Bloomfield on Feb. 27 and Rochester Adams on March 2.
