GHS students to pay more for driver’s ed

Goodrich ? Effectively immediately, students enrolling in the Goodrich School District driver’s education program will pay more for the privilege.
Previously, the school received reimbursement from the State of Michigan for its Segment I Drivers Education. Despite state funding and a previous charge of $100 per student, the district paid $1,764 for the program from its general fund.
This year, the state will issue no reimbursement. Based on the prior year’s expenditures, school officials expect 2004 Segment I classes to cost $207 per student.
The program will stay at the school as long as there are willing instructors, says superintendent Raymond Green.
‘Otherwise, we’ll entertain privatization,? said Green.
