Michael John O’Meara, of Lake Orion, Michigan, was born in Jackson, Michigan on March 12, 1962.
He passed away on October 9, 2022 and is now in the loving arms of his heavenly Father.
Mike is survived by his parents M. Mike and Kay (Crafton) O’Meara; his siblings Terrie (Mark) Nutt, Patrick (Rosella) O’Meara, Mary (Jeff) Childers, Kevin (Leona) O’Meara; his nieces and nephews Annalise O’Meara, Jeffrey, Abigail and Aaron Childers, Anna (Nutt) Coffland, Justice, Elijah, Sean, Joey and River O’Meara; as well as his grand nieces and nephews Emmalin, Jonathan and Willow Childers.
Mike attended Bergan High School in Peoria, Illinois and graduated from Iola High School, in Iola, Kansas in 1980. During his high school years, he played football and ran track. He enjoyed keeping up with sports teams throughout his life.
Mike worked in sports retail and spent his free time wood working.
Mike’s family and friends were everything to him. He was a gift giver and we are all recipients of his hand-crafted gifts, as well as his meticulously chosen cards that he sent to us on our birthdays, holidays and special occasions.
We will miss his great smile, dry sense of humor and the special times that we shared with him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 11 a.m. to noon.
A funeral service will immediately follow at noon at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel.
Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
