School board members change positions

The first meeting of the Clarkston School Board for the 2006-07 fiscal year began with all four officer positions changing hands.
The July 10 meeting opened as new board member Joseph Armstrong took his oath of office. Armstrong was elected in May to a four-year term. He replaces Sheila Hughes, who did not seek reelection after serving 16 years on the board. Armstrong will serve as a trustee.
The next duty of the new board was to elect officers.
Stephen Hyer was elected to serve as the new board president. Hyer previously served as vice president and replaces Karen Foyteck, who remains a trustee on the board.
Barry Bomier, who previously served as a trustee, was elected to replace Hyer as vice president.
Ron Sullivan was elected as the new secretary, a position previously held by Sheila Hughes. Sullivan previously served as treasurer. John Koval, who previously served as a trustee, was elected to replace Sullivan as the new treasurer.
Joan Patterson remains a trustee and is the only board member not to change positions.
