Accident at Atwater
Lake Orion police responded to a traffic crash at S. Broadway St. (M-24) and Atwater Street at 1:06 p.m. Nov. 22 when a red Chevrolet and a tan Ford collided.
One vehicle was pulling out of the driveway at Atwater Commons and struck the other vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
Trying to sell a coat online is costly for Lake Orion resident
A resident on Andrews Street called police after being scammed online. The resident was trying to sell a coat and became a victim of an internet scam, losing $3,100.
Police are investigating.
Drunk driver crashes at M-24 parking lot
A Pontiac man was arrested after drinking and driving and crashing his vehicle at a local business off of M-24.
The incident happened around 12:05 a.m. Nov. 25 when a 54-year-old man drove his vehicle off M-24 north of Church Street, striking a sign.
The car then went through a parking lot and ended striking a tree and fence, police reports stated.
Lake Orion police officers observed signs of intoxication from the man and they got a search warrant for a blood draw.
Results and charges are pending as of press time.
The man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Vehicle is following too closely to stop in time, accident on M-24
A green GMC vehicle traveling on M-24 near Converse Court at 12:36 p.m. Nov. 27 braked for the vehicle in front of it, but a white Dodge behind the GMC could not stop in time and struck the rear of the GMC vehicle.
There were no injuries reported.
Strike three for drunk driver
A Lake Orion police officer was on patrol at 9 p.m. Nov. 27 and saw a black Ford F-250 traveling on Shadbolt Street make a right turn on to northbound Lapeer Street and crash into a sign.
After stopping the vehicle, police noticed that the 61-year-old Orion Township man showed signs of intoxication. The man refused a breath test, an incident report stated.
The officer got a search warrant for a blood draw and the man was transported to a local hospital for a blood draw.
The man was later taken to the Oakland County jail with charges pending for Operating While Intoxicated, Third Offense.
Someone cuts a screen at a village business
Lake Orion police are investigating after someone at a Lapeer Street business discovered on Nov. 28 that someone had cut an outside window screen.
There is no evidence that anyone was able to get inside the business. Police are reviewing surveillance video.
