The LOHS Boys Varsity Water Polo team extended their record to 3-0, traveling to take on the Mason Bulldogs on April 10, dominating 20-5.

The team had originally been scheduled to play Troy but due to quarantine issues, the boys Troy team had to cancel and the Dragons showed once again that this year, flexibility is a necessary component in maintaining an ongoing sports season. The Dragon coaches regrouped and Mason was willing to host, and the team traveled across the state and were in the pool, ready for action.

Since fall 2019, this was the first away game that two visiting guests were able to attend and the stands were electric. The Dragons responded immediately with a goal on the first possession by LO junior Noah Watt and the game took off.

Clarkston junior goalie, Adam Ehrenberger was strong in net, making 6 blocks, and was assisted by LO junior Nick Kadulski who stole the ball from the unsuspecting Bulldogs twice to return play to the Dragon offense.

The offensive battle was led by Clarkston senior Owen Brown who made an impressive 8 goals and was joined by LO senior Michael Pavelich with 3 goals.

Scoring opportunities were realized for many Dragons with N. Watt, and LO junior J. Watt, and sophomore Kaden Czar chipping in two a piece. LO seniors Dane Herrick and Carter Brunni were joined by newcomer LO sophomore Evan Fox, each adding one goal.

The LOHS Girls Varsity Water Polo team traveled to Troy and defeated the Troy United team in their first win of the seaon, 10-6.

The Dragon defense was led by Oxford goalie, Ellie Olheiser, who made an impressive showing in net with 15 saves. She was aided by Oxford senior Emily Geda and LO junior Dakota Guldi with two blocks a piece.

The Dragon offense was led by LO senior Emma Giem with an exceptional four goals and she was joined by LO juniors Madison Gordon and Jenna Manganello with two goals each. Geda also chipped in one. Junior Rose Corliss had two assists to aid the Dragon offense.

Both Dragon teams are back in the pool on Thursday, April 15, traveling to Birmingham to take on the Seaholm Maples.
