This week is designated as National Teacher Appreciation Week. In Lake Orion Community Schools, everyone who improves our children’s lives is a teacher, regardless of their job classification. That’s why I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all staff members who support our children. What each of them do everyday deserves far more appreciation than just this upcoming week.
I was doing a Google search for some clever quotes to recognize our LOCS staff members. The best one I found is from my own kids’ long-ago favorite TV personality… “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero to me.” – Fred Rogers (Mister Rogers)
Here is what I know for sure: they don’t do what they do every day for recognition, appreciation or certainly not to be considered a hero. Rather, they do it because they genuinely care for each child. They do it because they are committed to ensuring that every child feels important and special. They do it because they believe that each child has value, regardless of any unique circumstance in their lives.
I’ve been in this profession a very long time and have worked in several different school districts. In no other district have I felt the respect and admiration for my colleagues that I do for each staff member in Lake Orion Community Schools.
It is with great appreciation that I thank them for all they do to ensure that each child is successful in his/her learning, cared for daily, and encouraged and motivated each day they come to school.
Most sincerely,
Marion Ginopolis, Superintendent,
Lake Orion Community Schools
