The Lake Orion Public Library hosted a Harry Potter themed escape room on Saturday. Lake Orion fans signed up to participate in groups of 15 to attempt to find a misplaced Goblet of Fire using various clues in under one hour.
“Your scenario is that the Ministry of Magic has traveled to New York to meet up with MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States),” explained the creator Alex Drummer. “They intend to invite Ilvermorny school to join the Triwizard Tournament. You guys are helping set up for their reception but you’ve misplaced the Triwizard Cup. So you have to find it and put it on it’s display pedestal.”
The group had to work together in order to find objects that would assist them in solving puzzles and clues that would all them to unveil keys that would eventually lead them to unlocking the box that held the Triwizard Cup (also known as the Goblet of Fire.)
Drummer and his wife Jessica, both avid Harry Potter fans had been hosting the escape room for some time now, holding it at a number of conventions.
This particular group finished with about 12 minutes left of their hour.
