Golfers to take on Lady Colts

The Lady Wolves finished last week’s tournaments with two golfers with medalists.
Senior Katie McKnee finished with a medal at Forest Lake and Frankenmuth for the Clarkston Ladies Varsity Golf team. Senior Sabrina Zayec finished with one for the team at the first OAA Red tournament of the season.
“We were respectable and we played hard,” said Coach Steve Hoffman about the tournaments. “We have a long way to go.”
He added the tournaments helped the team as it exposed their strength and their weaknesses as they finished in the middle for all the tournaments.
“We now need to focus on chipping and putting where all tournaments are won and lost,” Hoffman said. “It’s all in the touch. We will be fine. We will practice hard. We will master that part of the game.”
The Lady Wolves host Troy at Oakhurst Golf and Country Club on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Hoffman added it will help the team to have the home advantage.
“Oakhurst is a top club,” he said. “They have excellent greens and a great layout. Troy is always extremely competitive. In fact, they play at all three tournament we played in last week. It was very helpful to see them at the tournaments. Our Lady Wolves are ladies. They are competitive. They are noble and honorable. It is fun to watch them.”
The Lady Wolves host Stoney Creek at Oakhurst next Tuesday before heading to Seaholm on Sept. 12.
