On June 29 the annual Independence Day celebration will combine with CreekFest in what should be one of the greatest fireworks displays ever in this area. The event is expected to begin at dusk (approximately 10:15 p.m.) behind Chase Bank, 761 Ortonville Road. The rain date is July 6.
Parking can be found in the student lots of Brandon High School, MacPhee’s Restaurant, and Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School. Parking will be available at St. Anne Church for a fee.
The Chamber needs to raise $8,500 for the fireworks show. Wolverine Fireworks Company will again provide the show, which will be 30 minutes long.
Throughout the month of June collection jars are at various local businesses throughout the area.
‘It’s a magnificent show and the largest community event in Ortonville,? said Brandon Fire Chief Dave Kwapis. ‘All the school parking lots are typically packed early and now that the event is combined with CreekFest we anticipate the entire facility to be overflowing.Please monitor the Ortonvillechamber.com for any changes or rescheduling of the fireworks due to weather.?
