Signing day for Martians players

Goodrich-Teammates this season’competitors next season.
On Nov. 14 Martian girls basketball players Taylor Gleason and Aketra Sevillian signed national letters of intent. Taylor to the University of Illinois, and Aketra to Penn State University’both Big Ten Conference schools.
But before they head off to their respective schools, the standout seniors are taking aim at a repeat of the undefeated season that ended with a Class B state championship.
Goodrich Girls Varsity Coach Jason Gray is confident in their ability to play at the next level.
‘We’ve been blessed to have this pair at Goodrich? both are something special,? he said. ‘I think their achievements are a good indication of the program here at Goodrich. They are blessed to go this far. I am looking forward to one more year with Gleason and Sevillian’they have earned the scholarships with a strong work ethic.?
‘Gleason is a well-rounded player’she can score, is a great passer and can handle the ball very well. It’s the diversity of skills that makes her an exceptional player. Sevillian is all about speed and intensity? that’s where it starts. She’s excellent on both sides of the ball that’s what makes her special.?
Also signing a national letter of intent on Wednesday was senior Mitch Young, who will play baseball at St. Joseph’s College ? a Division II school in Indiana.
