Concert in Labodie Park Aug. 17

Music in the Park returns to Addison Township on Friday, Aug. 17.
From 7-9p.m. at Labodie Park (1440 Rochester Road), stop by to hear the Haulin? Ellis band. Haulin? Ellis plays an eclectic blend of tunes– a little bit of country, and a little bit of rock-n-roll, to paraphrase the Osmonds.
This year will be the second time Friends of the Library has hosted this event. Initially held in 2010, it returns this year due to overwhelming public demand.
It was so popular, said Laura Schaefer, President of the Friends of Addison Township Public Library, that ‘members of of our board and members of our community . . . asked for it to be done again.?
The event is open to all and is free of charge. Donations are welcome, however, and will help Schaeffer and Friends of the Library provide events and materials by which the Library reaches out to children, teens, and adults in Addison.
‘We have a lovely park and it’s a safe environment for the kids,? Schaeffer said. The concert will take place under the stars, so bring a basket, a blanket, some buddies (sorry–no beer or alcohol is allowed).
Food will be available for carry-out from the Bear Paw Cafe, Lakeville Inn, Wright’s Market, and Louie’s Food & Spirits.
