Goodrich OKs bonds for Dutch Bridge, Erie Street work

By a 4-0 vote the village council approved bonds to finance the cost of improvements to the Dutch Road Bridge over the Kearsley Creek and repairs to Erie Street.
The total cost of both projects is $718,900’of which the village will pay about $276,000 for engineering and design costs. The balance, $442,900, will be paid by state and federal funding.
‘The bond money will allow for any expenses for the engineering and design,? said Jakki Sidge, village administrator.
The total cost of the Dutch Road Bridge improvements, which is set for 2013, is $435,000, which includes replacement of the deck. The Erie Street project will begin when school is dismissed in 2013 and includes repair to drains along the section from the culvert over Kearsley Creek west to the end of the street.
‘The bond money will be used rather than dipping into the fund balance,? Sidge said. ‘The payments will be about $35,000 per year for approximately 10 years.?
