If Oxford High School junior Zack Hadorn is not dominating on the gridiron or wrestling mat, he is quickly dispatching his opponents inside the boxing ring.
Hadorn won both his fights during the Eastern Michigan Golden Gloves regional boxing competition and qualified for the state tournament on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 in Grand Rapids.
‘I think it’s sweet and it’s really exciting,? Hadorn said.
Hadorn won his championship fight in 20 seconds by knockout.
‘I went into that fight as a sub-novice, meaning I had no fights, and the kid I fought had no fights,? Hadorn explained.
When he competes at the state championship, Hadorn is going to be bumped up to the novice level.
Hadorn said he got interested in boxing while he was training to become a mixed martial arts fighter. He said one of his friends introduced him to his current boxing coach, Shane Blower.
Hadorn has been training at Strike Fitness in Oxford for approximately one year.
‘I just like the adrenaline rush and I am into the aggressive sports,? Hadorn said.
