Goodrich-The Goodrich robotics team has done it again. The group recently traveled to Houston, to the FIRST National Competition and placed second in the nation, and first in their division.
The competition was hosted at the Houston Astrodome where more than 300 teams gathered to compete. Four teams went on to the finals, but Goodrich showed their talent, skill and hard work and came out shining.
Including winning first in their division, they were also awarded the Johnson & Johnson Sportsmanship award.
Patricia Major, team coordinator, said they were very excited to do so well.
During the event, team member Adam Bourgeau was informed that Kettering University awarded him a $20,000 scholarship. The university only awards robotics team members.
‘I’m really happy that Adam got the scholarship, he’s a really good kid,? said Patricia Major.
Last year the scholarship was given to Nick TenBrick, who currently attends the university.
