Police snag alleged pot seller

Village resident Joshua David Harvey, 29, was arrested Aug. 9 at Shadbolt and S. Broadway after Lake Orion police found a half pound of marijuana in his vehicle.
Harvey also had four outstanding arrest warrants and a suspended driver’s license, according to police.
Around 7 p.m. that evening, officers saw who they thought was Harvey pull into a downtown business parking lot. Police knew Harvey as a man with outstanding warrants and easily identifiable tattoos.
When officers approached the male driver, the man offered a different name and date of birth with a clear driver’s license and similar physical description as Harvey’s, according to the report.
But, upon further investigation, police found that the tattooed driver was in fact Harvey.
‘Multiple, very unique tattoos become an identifier,? said Police Chief Jerry Narsh, noting they’re almost like fingerprints.
An impound search of Harvey’s Ford van uncovered a half pound of packaged marijuana hidden inside a potato chip bag. Police say they also found additional evidence indicating Harvey was selling the drug.
Harvey was arrested and charged with delivery and manufacturing a controlled substance, which is a felony offense. He could face up to four years and/or $20,000.
Harvey was also charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license and provided false identification to police.
‘Selling drugs is not an acceptable source of income and it’s not tolerated in Lake Orion,? said Narsh, noting Harvey was selling marijuana to coworkers.
‘No matter the field of work, (drugs) affect your ability to do a job. Do we want school teachers, construction workers or medical workers high??
