The puck dropped onto the ice and the Wolves headed into Davison’s zone at the start of the overtime period.
Junior Dillon Drayer took his shot and the puck deflected off of a player landing into the net. The Wolves won, 4-3.
‘We haven’t had a break all year,? said Clarkston Hockey Head Coach Bryan Krygier. ‘It’s about time we got one.?
The Saturday game was the consolidation round for Clarkston’s annual Christmas Tournament, putting them in third place.
Davison scored within the first minutes of the game. Clarkston’s Adam Frank tied the score with ten minutes remaining in the period.
‘Davison kind of took to us in the second period,? said Krygier. ‘We fought back in the third period to tie it up.?
Jack Schlau added a goal and Frank put his second in the net for the tie. The boys made 36 shots on the net and goalie Alec Gildner had 16 saves.
The boys lost Cranbrook on Friday night, 4-0.
‘It was a good game,? Krygier noted. ‘We played well and had a couple of weak goals scored on us. You can only do so much, you also have to score goals to win but I think we played a better game then we did last time against them.?
The boys made 25 shots on Cranbrook’s net and Jonathan Williams made 32 saves.
