Red or white?

Art and wine lovers gathered at John and Geriann Reimann’s home on Indianwood Lake on Saturday for a benefit wine tasting. Money donated went to the Orion Art Center (OAC).
‘This is an opportunity for the community to come together to learn about the Orion Art Center and taste fabulous wines at the same time,? said Andrea Ordakowski, an OAC volunteer.
Of OAC’s seven wine tastings, this particular one was unique in that art center board members — President Lisa Cummins, Sue Turpen, Char Follis, Gail Ryan, John Ryan and Sandy Maybery — provided the wine. Each member brought three of his or her favorite red and white varieties.
Turpen also offered her culinary services for the event’s hor d’oeuvre spread. She is an ‘entertainment diva,? said OAC Director Reggie Harrison.
Artist and art-lover Julie Moenart attended the benefit.
?[Art is] a very important part of the community,? she said. ‘It felt like a good thing to support. I think there should be more of it.?
OAC is a non-profit organization that relies on fundraising and donations. According to Cummins, the center raises about $2,500 at each wine tasting.
