Lake Orion football moms take to the gridiron

Over forty eager Lake Orion women ? mostly mothers of high school football players ‘answered the call to the gridiron last Tuesday night August 4. The Third Annual LO Women’s Football Camp 101 cosponsored by the Lake Orion Varsity Football program and Dragon Guided Activities Program (GAP) taught the participants the basics of each player position as well as practice and game preparations.
Led by the Dragons head varsity football coach, Chris Bell, his staff and players, the ‘football moms? were put through the rigors of warm-ups, blocking, tackling, position specific drills, offensive and defensive plays, and many other football particulars
As participant Sue Quattrochi stated ‘I was amazed at the level of organization and dedication of the coaches and young men helping that evening. This experience just added to the pride that I have for LOHS?.
All in all, the ladies impressed the coaching staff and will be ready to fill in for Coach Bell this season when they are called upon. That is, if their sore muscles and aches go away by then.
