Goodrich-The school board is expected to vote Monday night to fill a vacant seat following the resignation of trustee Michael J. Thorp on May 6.
Thorp, 53, who served almost two decades on the school board, relocated to Flint. His current term will expire in 2011. The board will appoint an individual to fill Thorp’s seat Monday night. That individual will serve until June 30, 2010, and run for the seat on the May 2010 school board ballot.
The board is expected to interview school district residents: Sheila Blickensdorf, a homemaker and GHS graduate; Paul Cottrell, who is employed by Trelleborg and a parent of two students in the district; Mark Griffiths, a salesman for Akzon Nobel Coatings, Lynne Morisette, a bookkeeper for the family business and Kevin Smith, a GHS graduate and local business owner.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m., at the high school central offices, 8029 South Gale Road.
