In their second to last home game, the Wildcats were not able to muster enough offense to defeat Holly in a 60-45 loss Friday night.
Junior Gary Wurtz saw his 17 point effort go to waste as Holly used a 21-7 second quarter to pull away from the Wildcats and clinch a share of the Flint Metro League with Fenton. Junior Tommy Nieman contributed 10 points for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are 8-10 in the FML, and 8-11 overall.
The loss on Friday came on the heels of a 71-55 drubbing of rival Linden Feb 23.
Senior Mike Bertling had 23 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats who used a 17-7 second quarter and a 20-13 fourth quarter to take control of the game.
Nieman finished the game with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Senior Anthony Esparsa finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats finish their season at Goodrich on March 3 and come home for their final game Friday night against Lapeer East.
